Default Brag: I mastered the kipping pullup today

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3LF_Ak-irA

I've been trying to get this thing down for a few weeks. I managed 2 pretty good sets of 15 last week, but I didn't quite have the motion right. Today, I busted out 2 sets of 20 like it was my job. That's all.

Congrats, but why not just do a regular pullup

Just wanted the challenge of learning a new exercise that actually takes a bit of skill/rythm.

I do regular pullups as well. In fact, I do dead weight pullups that are just about the opposite of kipping ones. You just barely let your heels touch the ground or a box so that you come to a complete stop between reps. They are pretty killer. I can only do about 8 of those.

You should try to kip all the way to the top of the bar if you have a place where you can do that. Takes some practice but it's really fun and cool if you can master it.

We used to have to do this in my gymnastics class.
