How did this not get more love from almost two hours ago?
[ QUOTE ] Nice Laydown Isaac Haxton raised to 3,300 under the gun and got one caller. The flop {2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Haxton led out for 7,000. His opponent raised to 21K, and Haxton moved all-in for 56,000 total. He and his opponent were almost even in chips and the other player took a long, long, long time deciding what to do. Finally he mucked, and Haxton turned over pocket Kings. His opponent said he threw away pocket Queens. [/ QUOTE ] Ike FTW! I leave the computer and you guys are slackin'. IDK if anyone's mentioned it, but the PokerPages coverage of the ME is pretty damn good this year.
WAY better than previous online coverage, even with the occasional typos, which they also try to fix up later. Their reporters seem both numerous and clueful. Kudos. |

Re: ** WSOP ME, $10,000 NLHE, Day 2B, Wed. July 11 **
spongers table:
Wednesday, 11th of July 2007 04:33 PM (Michael Cheser reporting) Jeff "J.P." Parker got all-in with another player on a J-7-3 flop. Parker had J-5 for top pair, but his opponent had 7-3 for two pair. The turn was a brick but the five on the river gave Parker a higher two pair, eliminating the other player and pushing an enormous stack to Jeff. It took him a long time to stack and count his mountain of chips, which ended up being right about 400K. The tournament staff even came to remove two full racks of 100 chips from him and give him 20K in orange chips in exchange. Fifteen minutes later, at that same table, Amnon Filippi checked a flop of 4 3 A and when his opponent bet 10K, Filippi moved all in for 60K total. Clearly, his opponent put Amnon on a bluff or semi-bluff, as he called him with T T. Filippi, though, had A 3 for two pair. With the Q 7 turn-river, Amnon doubled up to about 135K. That table just may be the table with the most chips in play. There are four stacks with at least 200K and most of the others have at least 100K. When a late-position player pushed all-in for 17K holding K J, Chris Ferguson decided to take a shot at him with 7 7. But the other guy won the race when the board came 2 T J 4 A. Ferguson could afford taking the hit, as he still has 150K behind. |

Re: ** WSOP ME, $10,000 NLHE, Day 2B, Wed. July 11 **
and here:
Chris Bell Moves to a Tough Table Chris Bell was just moved to Table 51, seat 6, joining Amnon who is already in seat 9. Bell has an above-average stack with 105,000, and Amnon is even better than that with 152,000. But that's nothing at this table. The short stack in seat 1 has 70,000, and there are four players above 200,000, with one over 300,000. There was one other short stack with about 30,000, but he was eliminated on the first hand after Bell sat down. Chris Bell is probably already missing his old table. |
