Weekly PLO Game? Any Interest?
So on the beginners forum Basementproject started this post about having a weekly game involving 2+2ers where we could play for very micro stakes and learn from one another. The problem is that the majority of the players will end up being NLH, and although I said I would participate, I am disappointed that no real PLO players will be joining this weekly game. I was wondering how much interest there is amongst you all in having a micro game where it isn't really about making money off each other but a good time to see how each other plays and give advice to one another. I am really hoping some of the great PLO players here would be interested in helping us lowly microstakes players lol. If this sounds interesting to you, let me know.

Re: Weekly PLO Game? Any Interest?
sunday night would be ok for something like this and its always going to be time dependant - the only issue i can see with a micro stakes game is there is going to be a huge amount of gambling going on due to alot of people being over rolled perhaps for this reason a MTT might be better?

Re: Weekly PLO Game? Any Interest?
2+2 cash games tend to quickly degenerate into aggro fests and little is learned. A tourney definitely is better, though you'd be learning something different than what you intended in the first place.

My 2 cents is that I think PLO MTTs are only fun if they're rebuy so the tables are deep. Also, if europeans like me are going to play night time no can do

A tourney definitely is worse. [/ QUOTE ] FYP. Omaha is NOT a tournament game. |

Re: Weekly PLO Game? Any Interest?
A tourney definitely is better as a learning experience (meaning you might actually learn something) than a micro cash game with a bunch of overrolled aggro monkeys. Perhaps that wasn't made clear.
As for Omaha as a tournament game, well, I'm not going to disagree. |

Re: Weekly PLO Game? Any Interest?
If ppl are going to consider an MTT you probably want a 25 or 50 dollar buyin and either 3000 or 4000 chips to start.

Re: Weekly PLO Game? Any Interest?
Well my thinking was that cash game would be better than a MTT because most of plan is to use these skills in a cash setting not a tournament setting.
As for the aggression, it was my understanding that everyone would play AS IF they were playing at their bankroll level and not treating it like a play money situation. ( Remple had a good point for those of you with big stakes maybe you can have side action based on your performance if you need that). LOL. Of course apparently I don't know how you guys think! I assumed that everyone would understand that we will play as if it were a real game, at the level you are used to being bankrolled at or the point is entirely missed. The time of the tourney can be structured for european players and american players because I realize there are a lot european players. LOL as for the $50 PLO idea NO WAY LOL I can't afford that and I don't want to go broke. I wanted to learn. My normal game is $25PLO so that is not possible, at least, in the game I wanted to get going. I mean for this to be at the lowest stakes of PLO JUST for educational purposes... the idea is not to destroy one another but to treat it as a training exercise. LOL you guys are so agressive! I don't mean for this to be a battle ground NOT really what I was thinking. |
