Default Bottom set on scary board with lots of action

(SB) $1,000
(UTG) $350
(HERO-MP1) $450
(MP2) $650

stacks are approximate, live $2/$5 game at a local casino, tough table.

SB is fairly tight and solid. I hadn't seen him do anything crazy/stupid in the 9 hours or whatever I had been there. He even just called down w/ some pretty strong 2pair hands.

UTG was sort of unknown, hadn't been there too long. He had bet a flop once and I minraised him and he folded earlier. Played fairly straight forward from what I could tell.

MP2 is sorta thinking LAG. He's capable of making plays, and capable of playing a hand different ways.

SB is familiar w/ MP2 and vice versa. This is the first night I've played w/ SB, but I've played w/ MP2 a couple other times. I'm viewed as tight, UTG is probably unknown to both of them as well.

I limp w/ 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

7 see the unraised flop ($35) of 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
SB checks
UTG bets $15
Hero calls fully expecting MP2 to do something
MP2 raises to $40
SB check-raises to $140
UTG folds
Pot is now $245 w/ $125 to call
Hero ???

I was thinking my range on SB was pretty tight since he hadn't gotten out of line all night. I put him on 99, 88, some sort of 2pair, 76, or maybe some super draw like J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Are his ranges too narrow? Is this a raise/fold type of deal? If I raise the flop instead of calling it plays differently also, is that what I should have done? Thx in advance.

btw what's up with all these "should i fold bottom set?" posts lately? the answers almost always the same, and when it isn't, it's a lot trickier spots than this one....
