Default Omaha newb - short stacked in PLO tourney.

I have never played Omaha before in my life, but kind of get the basic idea of it (and have read Lyle Berman's chapter in SS2... is that good advice or not?). Anyhow, there was a $120 rebuy tournament at my casino, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

There were 51 runners, and we were down to about 17 left. I was very short with just 6600 at 800/1600. My table had just broken & I was moved to a new table. I was two to the left of a guy who my mate had told me was aggro, who had the chip lead with ~100K in chips. He's UTG+1, and pots it.

I look down at Tc Td Kh Qs

Should I be going with this hand, or am I likely to find a better one in the next few hands? Advice appreciated.

Not having a flush draw kinda hurts this hand but having such a short stack, I'd just stick it in.

I was thinking the same - I just wanted one of the T's to be suited.

how many get paid? I wouldnt let myself get this short, and if i did, I would probably pass on this spot and stick it in in the next few hands, preferably as the original raiser. This spot isnt too bad, its just marginal.

8 get paid. I was in for $330 (2 X $60 rebuys, $90 double add on), 8th got $690, 1st $4800.

Unfortunately the structure kinda dictated that I got short, which sucked. Avg stack would have been maybe 20K at 800/1600.

I just couldn't find any spots.

I think I'd fold and push the next hand, whatever it was. Your hand doesn't do much better than a random hand against his range, and there's still a chance you can make everyone fold.

your hand is prett random and you dont have any fold equity, so im with the fold/wait crowd as you hav let yourself get too short.

when i play a plo tourney, as soon as im down to around 40bb's or less im either limping with the intention of repotting, repotting a PFR or folding - any play other than this is bordering on spewey IMO (although there are other plays i would make that are abit more situational). And im doing it with around 10-15% of hands, so im really not expecting to go 30-40 hands without finding a good spot

Cheers for the advice.

I did fold & got it in next hand where I was the open raiser with A877 double suited, which I thought was OK.

As I mentioned, I've never played PLO before, but this tourney was ridiculously short stacked for a rebuy. 2K chips, 25/50 starting level, 20 min levels. The rebuy period wasn't *crazy* so no one have a really huge stack. Almost everyone was <20 bb's about 1 level after the rebuy period.

Still, it was fun to play. I assume playing cash PLO with >100 BB's would be quite enjoyable?
