Re: Devastating hand...Would you make this call???
Bump.
No one knows you have AK there. You can easily have KQ, QJ, AQ, KK, AA, JJ, q10, qj, I think ive made my point. Of course QQ is going broke there....Move to bbv, no crying in MTT |

Re: Devastating hand...Would you make this call???
As Mike Caro has made a living pointing out, Poker’s not about winning each hand, it's about making correct decisions, which, in the LONG run will make you a winner.
It seems to me that both you and the villain played this hand correctly. If you played the same cards in roughly the same situation 100 times, I think you would be very happy with the results. Bad beats suck, but the only time I lose sleep over a hand is when I'VE screwed up. Luck is what separates Poker from Chess, and even though I've had my (un?) fair share of both ends of the luck spectrum, I, for one, am happy that there is luck in poker, (Otherwise we all know that Phil Helmuth would win every hand) ;-) |

Re: Devastating hand...Would you make this call???
Yes, he claimed he knew you had AK; his honesty and vision has redefined conversation at the poker table for years to come.
As to your hand, you're playing in a dogshit midnight madness, so he may repop with AQs with his stack and blah blah. 1010 and JJ is in your perceived range when you call. There's nothing wrong with calling this preflop and playing a little poker. If an A or K comes out, on most boards, check for value. What will happen is in most cases is you'll get some value out of the hand by the river. On this flop, what you do, is you push, be a man about the results, and if that doesn't work, post this hand at BBV. They will make you feel better. Barry |

Re: Devastating hand...Would you make this call???
I think you played the hand fine. Folding PF wouldnt be bad here either but you were locked in after the flop. He had the right pot odds to call and he had outs as well. I doubt anyone wold fold QQ in this scenario.

Re: Devastating hand...Would you make this call???
he's risking losing an $11 investment versus having a HUGE stack and making the final table. Easy call by him given that your range could also be a lower set
