Default The River c/r bluff NLCASH

Villian is Marauderrrrrrrr for those who know him. Very aggro and we've only been playing about 10-15 minutes.

Full Tilt Poker, $2/$4 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 2 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

SB: $443
Hero (BB): $415

Pre-Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB)
SB raises to $14, Hero calls $10

Flop: ($28) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, SB bets $28, Hero calls $28

Turn: ($84) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, SB bets $66, Hero calls $66

River: ($216) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, SB bets $149, Hero raises to $307 and is All-In

reasons for shoving: his time bank went off making me think he's thinking about how much to bet to as a bluff. He doesn't bet a 9 there for value. Maybe I have the best hand? What do you think?

On a side note, whoever is MAvante'R or whatever on Full Tilt, thanks for the hit and run yesterday....don't play me if you're going to hit and run. I expect better from a reg like you.

I don't mind it if he can fold a hand, especially when he may be banking because he is betting A9 thin. I have no history with him though, and would need enough reasons to do this when the push is a minraise.

I like this play a lot.

1. His bet size looks like a bluff.
2. This is a scary board, so a lot of the times he will bluff at it.
3. Even if he has a hand, such as a set, and is value betting it, you have some fold equity.

I'm not too fond of it either . You really need him to fold
307/(307+365) ~ 45% of the time . He's getting nice odds to call this with plenty of hands and I doubt he will fold more than 45% of the time .

No one folds to a checkraise on the river. He is getting good odds and unless he is on a bluff, you won't get him to fold. Don't try to bluff people who fired three barrells even if they are big bluffers. Actually, that's how I make the most of my money. People try to playback at me when I take a very strong line instead of trying to playback in smaller pots when I didn't commit that much of my stack yet and am more ready to fold.

I don't like this at all. Any real hand that 3 barrels isn't going to be bet/folding the river. If think it is a bluff then you can just call because you have showdown value.

The raise doesn't really accomplish anything.

I disagree with you here. Players who are able to bluff shove or bluff raise thin value bets and get players to fold better hands are the ones who make the most money.

Well, he fired three barrells. I make a lot of money from people trying to bluff me in those spots.

If he folds you probably had the best hand. It's a minraise.
