Default K9o facing SB shove

7-handed live starting table (starting stack t 150)
structure: blinds up every 15 mins
Buy in: $10
Pay out: 1st- $50, 2nd- $20

4 remain.

cannot provide any read really other than we both play pretty standard.

stack sizes:
UTG- t 270
BTN- t 260
SB- t 114
BB- t 406

BB is t 10.

Hero holds K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

UTG folds, BTN folds, SB raises all-in for t 114, Hero...

fold, it's too weak to warrant a call. K9o isn't a monster. You only have 10 chips in here. If the blinds were 10/20 or something higher, that would be a bit more complicated. I would probably need like 99+, AQo+ here to profitably call.

Folds very quickly. No use making the stacks 270, 260, 228, 300 when you could be needing a K or 9 here vs any pair, ace, and the stronger Ks

**bump**- for afternoon/evening posters

(I'd just like more thoughts than 2 on this, this was a long debate at our table about which is correct)

Thx,

this is a pretty easy/standard fold really.

If the blinds are bigger, than I might even snap call...but here....

I mean if he's pushing 11 BBs into your BB with hands you WANT to see him flip over when you hold K9o, then you can afford to wait a couple more orbits, becuase you should have PLENTY more chances to take his $ w/better cards/situations.

...and if he is any good at all, then K9o vs his 11 bb range should be pretty well dominated.

I understand how home games go and how players go and all that...but honestly

honestly - this is just a super easy super standard fold and anything else is pretty bad

very good point, blinds rise every 15 minutes, and im sure blinds were up in 3 minutes. They would be going up to 6/12.

yowsa, nice slow structure.

fwiw, the reason home games are so soft is because people think that hands like this are worth half an hour of debate. it isn't. it's a trivial fold.

just because you saw antonio on tv one time and he tanked forever and called with K9 doesn't mean that all times you have K9 you should call. (omg but it has a nickname and everything!) ...
