Default 100nl - How do you play a missed AK vs a short stack?

This is my 2nd hand at the table, so no reads on CO. I'm never sure what to do in this situation, I pushed because it was a dry flop, there's still a decent chance I'm ahead and may get called by worse hands. Is this pretty standard, or is a check/fold better?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero ($99)
BB ($150)
UTG ($104)
MP ($37.65)
CO ($31.20)
Button ($19.35)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

I'm usually the pusher. I play it the same. Makes me wonder why I don't shove pre, now that I think about it.
