Default Is Absolute beatable with the BBJ extra rake?

With the last bonus change, whoring at AP became OK from what I have read...about $3.75 per hour at 1/2 6 max limit plus of course RB on top of that....so $5 per table hour lets say...not bad. However the extra rake on the Bad beat jackpot tables is 50 cents per hand on pots over $5. Let's say 50% of hands reach that with an average of 5 players per table, that is $5 per player per hour at shorthanded....or in other words 2.5bb/100 hands in extra rake. Is the game even beatable at this point? Unfortunately virtually all the tables are BBJ so you really can't chose to not participate.

IMO they are not, at least at lower limits, especially 1/2 6 max FL.

Not counting bonuses/rakeback/BBJequity basically none of the limit games at 2/4 and 1/2 are beatable now. 3/5 and 5/10 full is probably still beatable for 0.5bb/100 or so if you practice good game selection.

ILP did the math for me, because I'm too lazy. here is what he told me

3-6 and below, the rake+BBJ crushes you. You can't beat it.

5-10, it hurts, but it's still somewhat profitable.

10-20 and up, not a problem

So basically, I just never play 3-6 bbj tables, and 5-10 if there are some super fish there.

play when the Jackpot is over $350.000 = it's EV+ to play there.
i.e. you get more than that 50 cents per raked hand (statistically)

Absolute BBJ had a net effect of -$22/hr (don't remember the BB/100, I made a thread on this earlier this month) at .5/1 NL for me. The game was definitely still beatable but -$22/hr pay dock is brutal. (that doesn't include the EV of the bad beat jackpot itself.)
