What are some creative ways to motivate you to play more?

[/ QUOTE ]

Gooooood question!

1. Stop tracking profits on a daily basis. Set targets for how many hands you want to play; check your balance to make sure you have the right bankroll, then just grind.

2. Take reward breaks: there is a Moroccan restaurant I love in Arequipa, if I get in more hands than target for a week, I treat myself there.

3. Drop down to a real micro level for a session, max out the number of tables you are playing, and play LAG - it will cost you afew bucks, but it's great fun.

4. Enter the lowest buy-in Omaha hi-lo/Horse/7 card Stud trny's you can find - don't bother to check the rules first, just work it out as you go along. You learn and laugh (and generally bust out pretty soon, so it doesn't take much time)

5. Take your current buy-in and shortstack the highest level cash game you can eg $200 gets you into a $1k 6 max ring, shove from SB/Bn w any two, shove 22+,Ax,sc & sc 1 gappers from any position first to speak. Bust and forget it, double up and run!

6. Read hand discussion on P5s!

7. Watch WSOP ME vids on YouTube and Pokertube.

8. Watch HSP vids esp with Sammi Farha.

9. Read BBV on 2+2.

10. If you're still not motivated, a quick nifty fifty, five fingered hand shuffle will remind you that you are a sad sad person and your only rout out is to win big at poker, SO PLAY!

Beat: Found out a girl I was FWB with in hs got picked up in a black tar heroin sting. Her specialty was identity theft (along with [censored] the illegal immigrant who ran the operation). This is on the heels of learning that another fling is currently doing time for manslaughter.

Ironic considering how well I game select.

Beat: 73 straight sngs (9 man) w/o a win. I have to think that this is waaaaaay more than anyone else's record. BTW I don't suck and it was at 11s/22s (hard to believe I know but I had few 2nds and got it in ok most of the time).

I think I can common-sense it from the solutions, but it makes me want to kill the professor. Please let me know the next time you hear someone use the phrase "null hypothesis" in your everyday life.
