Default Renaissance/Fantasy Faires

Anyone go to these?

I just went to one last weekend and it was pretty fun. Biggest one I've ever been to. Last one I went to was about 10-15 years ago.

Took my 11 year old niece and we had a blast. Lil' sh*t even got me to rent costumes for us to walk around in.(actually, you do feel a little out of place not being in a costume).

My god the cleavage was nice to look at. Effing A!

Some people I know(chicks) went last week also(different day) and were in the Alehouse. Said they had a great time and want to go again. Looks like I'll be joining them as I didn't get to the Alehouse last time. I hear the serving wenches are a site especially when they're swinging drinks around.

You'd be suprised at how many women go to these things.

I was. Pleasantly.

Sure, there are your usual geeks there that are really waaayy into it and all. But there's quite a bit more than that also.

If you want to have a REALLY good time then:

Rent classic Star Trek costumes. Go and pretend that you are on a away mission investigating the social traditions of a newly discovered planet. Make sure you make the tricoder and communicator noises all the time.

See how long it takes before you are asked to leave. Be obnoxious and ALWAYS stay in character.

Make sure you do this while the local TV news crew is there.

Post much more entertaining TR

You mean like the people in costumes?

My sister is into this kind of thing and SCA, etc. Each to their own, I suppose.

Hi B,

I used to attend these every summer in upstate New York.
Wenches

I would smoke a lot before entering, drink while I was there and really enjoy myself.

I never dressed up, however I still had a great time.
