Default Live Poker Canada/Edmonton

Hi,

I travel in 6 weeks to Canada for one yeahr. The trip of my life !!

In my town in germany exists only some small illegal clubs where you can play some poker live. The other places are Casinos, but I dont like the dresscode there.

I want to know is there any place in Edmonton where I can play live poker regulary and legal ? I mean in a Club, Casino or somethin else ?

There are several in Edmonton, and Calgary has several casinos and there are more out in the smaller communities. Just check the interwebs.

Well if you're going to play poker in Canada, Edmonton/Calgary is the place to do it. Tons of casinos. The casinos are terrible but the action is crazy.

Typical games in Edmonton and 1/2NL, 3/6FL, 4/8FL DC and 5/5PL DC (mostly Omaha). The River Cree, Bacarate, Yellowhead, Palace and Edmonton Casinos all have 24/7 poker rooms. There is a new Century Casino but the poker room is only open until 2am.

Hi James, we have 6 poker rooms in the city, all of which are located in casinos. There are two on the west end (River Cree and Palace casinos), one in the north (Yellowhead casino), one in the northeast (Century casino), one in the southeast (Casino Edmonton a.k.a. Argyll casino) and one downtown (Baccarat casino).

All of the poker rooms primarily spread 3-6 limit and 1-2 NL. You may also find other games such as 1-2 NL dealer's choice (hold'em, omaha high, pineapple and crazy pineapple), 5-5 PL dealer's choice (95% omaha high normally) and a bigger limit game here and there. Yellowhead runs a 10-20 limit on Friday nights, for instance.

Hope this info helps, let me know if you have any more questions. Enjoy your stay!

Terrible players who don't care about the money. Although you're bound to run into a few good ones. You usually want the table with the big-stacked Asian degens lol. PLO is probably the most profitable game there, I have seen many overplay AAxx and low flushes.

Thank you for the elaborately answeres!

Here in Germany NL Texas Holdem is very puplic and a big trend game. It is also my best and only game But I am satisfied that there are some NL games. I will give them a shot if I have enough money to play.

@GrinningBuddha THANK YOU - I am very excited to Edmonton

@Degenerasian THANK YOU for your hint. In our poker clubs the Asians are equal with the Turks. They play very luck orientated and dont care about the money.

Slang-ish term for the internet. Also the world wide web, the internets, the grid, the datasphere, webville, online or for many people, the real world.
