An easier solution is to have everybody type "i am not a bot" in the chat window when they sit down.

um, this would prove nothing

[/ QUOTE ]Haven't you learned anything from Isaac Asimov and Star Trek? Bots are incapable of lying.

Unless the bot owner said he'd kill himself unless the bot complied obv.
Solution - phone poker FTW. Wait and see.
Even better - scratchcard poker! They got security numbers and stuff.

Fysically speak, it's not a great idea.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why?

I understand its a bit of work for both the suspected botter and the site, but wont u agree it will give botters a very hard time to get round this?
Clearly sites have a problem getting 100% evidence, wont this solution give them all they need?

Dunno about you, but I hardly move my mouse when I'm playing poker, pretty much hover over the fold button. Plus, without knowing someones mouse sensitivity, a movement of one inch or 1/4" could be exactly the same distance depending on sensitivity - and each mouse driver is different. Plus you can hack X Y sensitivity independently of a drivers set sensitivity...

[/ QUOTE ]

First off, mouse movement refers to onscreen. It has nothing to do with your physical mouse sitting on your desk, lol. Second, drivers don't matter as they just make windows API calls... it doesn't matter how it's handled before it gets to that level.

Haven't y'all learned anything from the Terminator?

The only way to beat a bot, is with an outdated bot that has more "heart" than the newer version bot.

Yes, the bots can be defeated. No, I won't say how, so don't ask.

Why not just a random pop up that you have to enter the code diplayed to confirm botless.. This would be simple and I dont think would be hard to do...

bot problem solved?[/b]

Having made bots for various online video games back in the day, I'd like you to know that mouse movement is easily simulated. Anyone with the programming power to make a bot, could work up a fix to this in a couple hours tops.

The solution is simple. Use the liar paradox to confuse and thus incapacitate the bots. We just have to get them to say, "This statement is false."
