To clarify:

You
0) raised
1) argued back
2) shut up and folded long string of bad cards
3) spoke nicely to him

0, 2 and 3 are fine and 1 sucks, but [censored] happens and people do not behave correctly all the time. Some of the other posters are too harsh. Just learn from the experience.

I lean towards that you should not have raised. The goal of a tournament is to eliminate players. There are some benefits of keeping certain players alive for table dynamics but you didn't mention that. Another approach is to accumulate chips early but how much emphasis should be place in that versus eliminating a player is debatable. Player elimination becomes more important as there are less people in the tourney but I still value player elimination. I have to agree with your nemesis that got pissed at you for raising.

You are, quite frankly, incorrect here. This isn't even close. You'd have more of a case if QQ had just called preflop then bet the AKx flop, but preflop, QQ rates to be WAY the best hand. Why wouldn't you want to isolate against a depserate player with dead money in the pot?

Besides, there are 64 players left. 6 pay. Do you think doubling your own stack or getting to 63 players increases your odds of cashing? It's not close.

Your play was fine. Try not to get so steamed, if you can. Trying to be the better man is good, but some people aren't worth it.

That's nothing. Try sitting to the right of a fat middle aged woman with a heavy pocketbook at a blackjack table and make a mistake where you take one of "her" cards. I'm lucky to still be alive.
