Default Question about Reading the Board

In this scenario, who wins or is this a tie?

Player 1: Ah Jc
Player 2: As 4d

Board: Ad 9h 9c Qc 3s

I was player 2 but folded after the Q hit b/c Player 1 had put in a decent pre-flop raise and decided it was time to abandon my aggressive play for that hand.

One other player stuck around to the finish so I got to see Player 1's hand. When I saw his hole cards I wondered if we would have tied (aces and 9's with the Q playing for both of us) had I stuck around. Or would my 4 have doomed me anyway?

Thanks.

split pot....both players have the same 2-pair (aces & 9s) with the same kicker - the Q.

The pot is a split, and you really shouldn't have been involved in the hand with A4 offsuit after someone put in a "decent pre-flop raise".
