Uno: strategy?
Is there enough strategy in the game of Uno to make one player significantly better than his competitors? It seems like such a simple game that the cards you draw should pretty much determine who wins, but I've been consistenly winning my Uno games (yes, we still play Uno) while employing basic strategies like getting rid of duplicate numbers, keeping as many colors as possible, remembering what colors people don't have, etc. And it's not like I'm playing with a bunch of 8 year olds... but even if I was would it matter?

All luck and no skill or what? [/ QUOTE ] Not even close. Obviously if someone has the nuts, they're tought to beat, but are you talking one-on-one, four-player individual game or two v two? In four-player individual games, there is a reverse stud-like factor that is huge. Is Player A out of green? Does he have any wild cards? Did player B play a 9 red, signaling that he has more reds? etc. etc. I assume you are playing on X-box live. If that's the case, almost ALL players are lazy and play their highest cards of a certain color every time, no matter what. |
