When you have a stronger than average hand like AJ, especially suited, you would love to raise and 'win' the button, as well as getting the random junk in the SB to call ...usually the BB will come along, but one less person in the pot who has already putt in 'dead' money is +EV.

I folded, and later he told me it was a good fold. I'm still not sure though. The pot is giving me 7-1, and if i'm not up against a set then its pretty close to correct odds to call against his range. Of course there is the whole reverse implied odds thing which probably leans back towards fold, but for some reason back in my limit days (about a year ago) I couldn 't remember folding in this situation. Granted it was online and there was this thing called bluffing and semibluffing which doesn't exist in the 10-20 live poker world.
