Does Indianapolis go with Alan Branch or Paul Posluszny?

Actually the more I think about it the Niner trade could go down as one of the greatest trades ever. It's a big gamble, but you never know what will happen. If the Pats have a bad year with injuries or whatnot and the Niners do half-way decent then the Niners will basically get the 28th pick for the 110th pick. That's moving up 82 spots.

wtf? I think you misread the trade.

The 49ers traded up with New England to get an additional pick in the first round, swapping first round draft picks in 2008 as well giving the Patriots one of their three picks in this year’s fourth round. With the 28th overall pick, the 49ers then selected Central Michigan tackle Joe Staley.

[/ QUOTE ]

If Niners make the playoffs and the Pats do not, then the Niners get the 28th pick for the 110th. (I'm sure the trade swap is only if the Niners have a better pick.)

I'd throw Chris Houston in there as well.

Hmmm... ESPN lists the trade as the Pats getting the 49ers first next year, not a swap. Obv that would change things a lot (i.e. I would hate this trade).

They didn't swap 2008 first rounders, they gave away their 2008 first rounder. The Niners don't have a 2008 first rounder, period.

I hate the Saints but Meachem is a really good pick. Here's hoping the Falcons draft some coverage so they don't get thrown all over.

where are you reading that? this is what ESPN says:

San Francisco 49ers: Acquire pick No. 28 (select OT Joe Staley).
New England Patriots: Acquire pick No. 110 and a first-round pick in 2008.

This day turned out great for the Bears. This cluster [censored] of a first round allowed us to get the best tight end in the draft.

I'm indifferent between Olsen and Branch. Would've been good value in both instances=A-
