50/100 A7s
50/100. Two loose-crappy players (about 35/10/1 and 26/12/1, respectively) limp in UTG and MP, I raise on the Button with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], a pretty good 2+2er calls in the BB and the crappy players call.
Flop J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Checked to me, I bet, 2+2 raises, UTG cold calls, MP folds. I call. Turn 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2+2 bets, MP calls, I raise intending to take a free showdown unless I make two pair. |

Re: 50/100 A7s
I'd probably play it the same, but I wonder if just folding on the turn wouldn't be better in a 10-handed game.

Re: 50/100 A7s
Most of 2p2er's range has you beaten. He'd probably bet out a monster on the flop, and there are zero semibluffing hands, so it looks like he has to have A2 - AQ, probably not AJ. You beat A2, A4, A6, lose to the rest.
you can't really fold, there is a miniscule chance he'll fold A8-AT, and you can fold to a 3 bet no sweat. Therefore, even though you're behind more often than not, this is one of those rare instances where I like the turn raise anyway. |

Re: 50/100 A7s
Eh, I do not really like this one. You do not beat a lot and there is even some small chance MP has you beat. Further, if MP does not have an A or diamonds he has a pretty easy fold to your raise.
If you knew if wouldnt get 3 bet I would like it more, but I just do not really see the benefit of potentially giving up your shot at a 3 outer when IMO you gain very little. I'm just not seeing a lot of up side to your line. |
