Sorel Mizzi Doubles Up Against Hellmuth
On a board of A94 Sorel Mizzi bets $80,000 and Phil Hellmuth calls. The turn is the A and Mizzi bets $180,000. Hellmuth goes into the tank then says, "I need a jack!" then calls. The river is the J, Mizzi thinks then finally goes all in for his last $323,000. Hellmuth quickly calls but mucks as soon as he sees Mizzi's 99. Mizzi now has $1.5 million and Hellmuth has around 1 million.

Maybe this is obvious to you guys, but what could that J have possibly done for his hand? AJ wins, JJ wins, no straight? [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

Mizzi tabled {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} while Hellmuth flashed the {A-Clubs} and mucked his other card. Mizzi's boat bested Hellmuth's trips and he doubled up. There was at least 600K in the pot when Mizzi moved in on the river for 323K more. Mizzi is past the 1M mark.

I was at that table during the hand and Sorel played that hand awesome.....Phil had no clue what he was up against....he made it sound like he had AQ, but I dont think he did....I think he would have turned it over and talked abou the cooler.....I think Phil just thought Sorel was on a move and may have called with a hand like QQ, but not really sure, he may have had anything from AK to any pr.....he was pretty convinced that people were making a play at him at that table all day......
