Broken stick option ftw! Also, I really wish they had full refs, linesman to call icing, refs to call penalties, signal for goal/no goal. I'm glad they're focusing on the on ice action, but once they have that down, I'd like to see more of the atmosphere of a game.

In my opinion, skill stick is the single best sports feature that I can remember. You just felt so much more connected with the game when it's not just banging on the buttons, but actually deking around a defenseman then flicking up on the stick to burying it past the goalie. It took a little while to get the hang of it, but once you did, it felt great. The main problems with it were that once you got pretty good with it and could exploit the defense's flaws, it was a little too simple to break on net, do a little deke to move the goalie and score. If the AI improves and actually stands people up at the blue line and sometimes forces you to play a little dump and chase game, combined with the new ability to engage the D one on one, I can't remember the last time I was this excited for a game.

I agree. The skill stick was an awesome addition. If this game even plays slightly like the demo, it's going to be sick. I'm going to preorder right now.

Does anyone know if the Free4 all feature is going to be added back, or if they have just dropped the concept entirely. That was always one of my favorite parts of the 06 (i think) game, and i was soo dissapointed when it was removed

NHL like most EA series has been pretty bad the past few years, however i really liked the controls they added last year. I have gotten 2K for a while now, but it looks like NHL might finally pass 2K this year.

Relatively boring gameplay video, mostly just a bunch of quick goals.
