Default 10nl Yaaaay I luv to flop sets.....@#$# board....

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.05/$0.10 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $13.50
BB: $7.85
Hero (UTG): $10.75
CO: $9.75
BTN: $6.15

Reads: Hero just sat at table 3 hands ago and has raised the last two with no flop seen. No real history with villain but he runs 46/21/2 over 200 datamined hands.

Preflop: Hero is dealt 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 Players)
Hero raises to $0.40, CO calls $0.40, 3 folds

Flop: ($0.95) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $0.60, CO raises to $1.90

Hero does what here???? Provide reasons not blanket one word responses, and why Hero's action is optimal....

We will play the hand out together and discuss the best ways to play the different streets.

reraise him to $5. He's running at 46/21 so I think you beat most of his range. You're looking to get it all in on this flop, and push if the turn is a brick.

I agree reraise. I'd expect someone who flopped a straight here to slow play it a lot of the time. I put him on either top pair, an overpair, or maybe even any ten or six.

Even if we're pretty generous with the hands he might raise here I think you're ahead.

Board: 8c 7d 9c
Dead:

Calling is bad because it gives him a free shot at the draws. Planning to c/r AI on turn makes it worse, because it potentially gives 2 free cards.
You've got to repop this.

Yeah, calling and then checking would be the worst donk play in the world. No joke.

Standard 3bet, you're crushing his range and on flops like these, villain will have a hard time giving up pair + OESD, 2p, etc. They get quite anxious to put their money in on boards like these.

Well looks like I made the most donktastic play in the world(at least according to my respected colleagues.. )

Anyone see a call here????

I'd been running into the stone cold nuts here the last couple of days, so I played it weak tight, with the plan of CRAI on a bricked turn....literally wanted to kick myself in the balls when the Jc hit on the turn.

you know you have to 3-bet this flop, the rest is trivial from there...

the way you played it, you put every difficult decisions on your side
