Riot at Mirage tournament?

I heard there was a considerable dustup at the Mirage tournament over the weekend. Fight broke out. Metro was called. An Asian lady won it and the loser(s) accused her of cheating???

This is what I was told, anyway.

Wish I'd been there. Never seen a fight in a poker room--a real fight, not some women arguing.

You obviously have never played in LA. My first trip to LA I was stuck a little in a 20-40 game. As I look down to see my AA people start throwing their cards in out of turn and everyone is headed outside because the two main donators in the game have had enough of each other and are going outside to fight.

everytime i go to commerce, i see a near fistfight break out. it is to my understanding that commerce houses the largest quantity of degenerates at one place at any given time.

That's funny. I've played at the Commerce one time, about 10 years ago, and yes, a fistfight broke out. These guys didn't bother to take it outside, they got from the table and started swinging. Reminded me of the Junior High cafeteria.

Heck, I got punched in the face at Red Rock (poker room) when a brawl broke out on New Year's eve. Metro was called and one guy was taken away in handcuffs. I believe a floorman was punched in the face as well (a friend of mine got a black eye as well).


I've seen many fights break out in card rooms over the years but this was my first time getting punched while playing poker. YMMV.

yah iv seen fights in Cardrooms from San Diego to Foxwoods
hell iv seen a fight one time at Foxwoods where a Table was fliped over.
it was like six table's away from me so i dont know what started it or anything but it looked to me like half the table was fighting

iv been in games where pounch's been thrown and stuff

I played at Commerce yesterday for three hours and saw five yelling matches and two that required security to come over and restore order. I left at 7pm. I can't imagine what the hell happens after that.

I don't play there a lot (mostly HG) but is this standard?
