Forgot exam date, make up excuse or take it?

This hasn't actually happened to me, but certainly could and I was thinking about it tonight. So what would you do?

You havn't been to this class in like a month and know you have midterm coming up but are pretty sure it's on thursday. however, as you go to begin looking at the material sunday night you realize the test is actually at 10:30 AM the next day. The material is pretty difficult and even with all night cramming you would be lucky to get a C. this is the second of 3 tests in the class (each worth 33% of your final grade) and you got a c+ on the first one even though you should have done better, stupid mistakes or whatever. Do you take the exam or make up an excuse? and if you make up an excuse what is it?

if it matters, you are at a top flight school with a below average cumulative gpa of 3.0. the class is required but not part of your major.. you don't care too much about grades since you don't plan to go to grad school and kind of are thinking about playing poker or at least getting a job that is not super competitive after graduation.

I know a kid who had his friend break his shin so that he wouldn't have to go to a drug test. Do you have a friend who plays soccer and also owns steel toed boots? It would be a good excuse at least.

Also, how is the work load at Penn? Is college actually hard there? I'm at UVa, and the workload has been VERY manageable so far. I only ask because I had my heart set on Penn, but ending up submitting an incomplete application because I forgot about the application deadline. I wonder every now and then about what would happen if I got in there.

ok i guess this became a very dumb post. i was bored while studying and didn't explain myself. but ya, i'm not actually in this situation, well sorta but not really. just to answer comments...

i havn't been to risk management in well over a month, i think i've been twice this semester. there's no attendance, it's not like the professor notices.

penn's workload is what you want it to be. i do like nothing, i go whole weeks without doing anything acdemic besides one or two classes with attendace regularly. but, i'm in the business school, the liberal arts program has more work that you have to do, while the business school is basically just tests with an occasional project/case.
