Re: Let\'s go to the tape! 30 minute game delay at RR
When the jackpot goes off at Canterbury, it is for anywhere from 5K to 150K, generally at least 30K. They stop the game for a couple of minutes, let the floor come over and verify the basics, then play on. Surveillance looks at the tapes while the game is running, and they pay off and hour or two later.
I have no idea why they would have to stop a game to payout a high hand jackpot. |

Re: Let\'s go to the tape! 30 minute game delay at RR
[ QUOTE ]
High hands used to take 15 minutes at Bally's a while back. Last time I played there and someone hit one, I figured "oh no, another long delay" and I headed to the restroom. They were already playing by the time I got back (and the high hand winner had given $5 to everybody at the table...except me since I wasn't at the table when he got his $300). Haven't played there since shortly before the $5 rake started. [/ QUOTE ] In contrast, when I was playing at Harvey's (another Harrah's casino) last weekend, a gal hit quads, and the dealer just yelled to the floor that quads hit. No stopping to count the cards, check the deck, or anything. Maybe because she only won 89 bucks... |
