Default Peppermill Spring Tournament in Reno

I noticed that the Peppermill has a series of donkaments going on in a couple of weeks.

Are these worth going to? What's the action like, compared to the cardrooms in the Bay Area and in Las Vegas? What does Peppermill's rake structure look like for their cash games?

FWIW I moved to the East Bay about 6 months ago and I haven't played much live poker, although I'd like to do so. I have played a lot of 1/2 and 2/4 NL online; however, the cardrooms around here all charge $5 per pot (even if there's no flop) for 2/5 $200 spread limit which seems outrageous to me, and I don't have the skill or the bankroll to play in the big game at Lucky Chances. Is live poker better in Reno than in the Bay Area? Thanks in advance if anyone has played at the Peppermill and wants to share their experience.
