You can just buy a VGA cable for the X360 and plug it directly into your monitor. Sound is then provided either via the optical port or the two stereo phono cables that split off the VGA cable.

I would not suggest using it on a TV with a VGA port, as the X360 does not adjust for the difference in brightness standards and you end up with a washed-out image.

I just hooked my 360 up to my second LCD monitor. All I did was get the VGA cable thing and then did the sound by hooking up the two audio cables to the included splitter, and then plugging it into the right place on my sound card in my PC.

One bad thing about it is that I don't think you can switch easily between using the computer and playing Xbox, so you'd have to unplug the VGA cord every time you want to switch.

Look here for instructions: http://hardware.teamxbox.com/reviews...D-AV-Cable/p1/

Yup, it's possible and works real well. I have the 20" dell Widescreen and it comes with two inputs, one for analog for my computer and one for digital, for the 360. I simply push the input button on the front of the monitor to change the input source. For sound, you can plug the audio cables into either your soundcard in the back of your computer or powered computer speakers.

you can get a kvm switch at any computer store that will make this easy.

I have a Dell 20" LCD. I don't use my desktop much since I got a laptop a few months back, so I made it my new HDTV using my cable box and a DVD-I cable. It has 4 inputs on it, 3 of which I am using now: one for the cable, one for the desktop computer, and one for the XBox 360. Works great. A button push cycles through them. The only thing I hate is not having a remote to turn it off and on.

To connect the audio to my reciever, I had to get audio cable extensions from Radio Shack because the freaking XBox cable only allows you to spread the composite cable ends about 6 inches.

I have an Elite, so I'm betting soon I'll end up getting a larger TV with HDMI input. I don't mind my setup now at all though.

bump. i finally had a need to connect my 360 to my lcd monitor. i got it working fine except i have no audio and i dont know how to connect it in.

i have these cables and i have a 5.1 logitech sound system.

i plan on getting the gateway 30" monitor that had built in speakers so it shouldn't be a problem then but what can i do in the meantime? for the gateway xhd3000 will i need a different cable?

If your audio system has an optical input, get a TOSLink cable and it connects into that connection port on the plug that goes into the 360. Otherwise you can't just put the separate red/white RCA jacks into your system?
