Figure I should finally throw my contribution to this thread.

GF and I found out we were pregnant (woops) in March.

GFs mom very aggressively encouraged us not to find out the sex.

GF agreed for a while, but I eventually persuaded her to find out with me.

We're having a little girl! Due Nov 21st.

Baby #1 Due January 19, 2008
We are finding out the sex this wedensday.

My wife has been a wreck ever since finding out she was pregnant. I don't know if anyone remembers them but I posted a few times about pregnancy under "soonadad1" about 6 months ago. I didn't continue posting with them since we had a miscarraige at about 8 weeks.

I'm not as nervous as my wife is since I am generally more laid back then my wife, and because I have a better way of wrapping my head around probabilty then her ( thanks poker) but I am still very nervous.

We have already had a number of ultrasounds and the baby ( we are calling it RIO now- short for embroy) is great, the doctor did some kinda Downs screening and said we have a one in 12,000 chance or something like that.

Also a friend of ours gave us a doppler heart monitor so my wife can listen to the heart beat every night, unless she can't find it for some reason which causes a melt down.

Anyways I had been activly avoiding this thread since the last time I posted about pregnancy on 2+2 it didn't go well, but now wish I had earlier.

Ken

Congrats Ken. I'm pretty sure 1 in 12,000 is the rate that everyone has, but maybe Mrs. Utah can confirm.

Why did you get the heart monitor? To just calm your wife down and make her feel better? I would think that maybe that would drive her even crazier. Does she use it every night?

So what's the sex?

Glad to see you here Steve. Hopefully things go better when you try again. And yeah - around 18 months is when they get really fun.

Here is my six month update picture for Madelyn. She's still a little peanut but doing great. I'm really enjoying being a daddy and watching her grow and mom is so content now I can get away with murder!

Hello moms and dads ('to be' and otherwise),

Hope everyone is great!

I wanted to stop in and give an update of my 4 month old son Jonah.

He is so sweet; my wife and I can't get enough of him.

We had a brief scare a few days ago when his doctor diagnosed him w/ meningitis. I can't tell you the emotions I went through for a few hours. I'm not too proud to say I can't remember ever crying that hard in my life.

Turns out he has Coxsackie Virus (hand/mouth/foot disease). I'm not going to get into the misinformation and misdiagnosis that we received but let's just say I wasn't very thrilled. Although I was pleased as punch to find out he'd be ok in a few days.

Other than that he is doing great.

I love dropping by and reading all the great stories and seeing the awesome pictures everyone shares.

This is a fantastic thread!!
