In the casino (Club Regent) there is 3/6 & 4/8 limit holdem. No NL.
On Tuesdays (tournament night) and Fridays there's often a 10/20 limit game. There aren't many good players in that one.

There are a couple of clubs that play 1/2 NL or PL...not sure about their quality/safety/goodness.

Once a month the casino tourney is a $230 freeze-out. Every other Tuesday it's a $60 buy in, $20 unlimited re-buy, $30 add-on tourney. I don't know which version will be going when you are here.

I've played the re-buy. It can be wild. The blinds go up pretty fast, so I've found it's not worth it for me. They start with 88 and get down to the winner usually within 5 hours. Starting stack (I believe it's the same as when I played) is 500 chips (re-buy available instantly) and the blinds are 5/10, increasing every 15 minutes.

Top 10 get paid. First prize is almost always $4400-$5000.

chucky, thanks... assuming that weekly and large tourney is no-limit??

and do you know the structure for the freeze-out?? starting chips/blinds, time per level? i'm assuming even the bigger$$$$ is fast and short.

Just checked...
On March 20 & 27 it's the $60 re-buy event. April 3 is the $230 freeze-out. Yes they're no-limit.

I'm not sure what the structure is for the freeze-out...but the blinds would still be 15 minutes...doubling or almost doubling each level. For some reason I think you get 5,000 chips to start the freeze, with levels starting at 10/20. Don't quote me on that, but I'll check it out.

Entry into the tourney has to be bought in advance through Ticketmaster. The re-buy sells out pretty quickly (apparently). I'm not sure when they go on sale for each week.

chucky, thanks..... i'm mostly interested in the bigger tourneys, whether it coincides with my dates or not (i.e. if it doesn't work out, i won't even go to casino)...

i did see the ticketmaster site for the no-limit tix... seems like it may have decent depth, but if it starts at 6:30pm (memory?), it's going to run really late on a weeknight.

thanks again!!
