This spreadsheet really has me rethinking whether I should exchange medals for points and get my TV faster, or use it for tournament entries. I don't think the tourney buy ins are -ev by any means, but at the same time I don't mind taking the sure thing and getting value for the points.

Up until now I've been happy to play my 16 tables and average $15k - $20k+ a month without bothering too much about interruption to that easy life from you and a couple of others trying to exploit that with the use of over-aggression.

Well, you're starting to take the piss now so you're forcing me to join this arms race. I may have to sacrifice some short-term profit and I may have to cut down on a table or two- but it seems it's now necessary in order to put an ends to this bollocks.

Please don't interpret this as sour grapes (it isn't) or me just being a whinging bastard (I might be) but if you continue to take liberties then I assure you that you will lose money. You've had your honeymoon period so be grateful for that.

o man I can't wait till all of you "avoid variance" regs move up to 5/10+. its like, you hate when someone re-raises you, because it actually forces you to play poker instead of set mine. your going to get abused by people with bigger bankrolls who are going to outplay you badly if you go with a all or nothing strategy(either playing back every time or avoiding completely).

lol, I limpraised him from utg with 99 one time and he just came right back over the top....I'm starting to think it was -ev for me to fold.

Gaby at least has a sense of humor. He asked me my age at the tables one time and when I replied he seemed surprised at the response of 28. He said based on my AF he would've guessed 70. Of course I do think I'd prefer playing like a 70 year old over being completely reckless in bad spots.

As long as we're on the subject of Gaby (again), here's a fun one. I realize this is a super loose call but once in a while I'm going to pick a spot and take my chances.

I expected my post to receive comments from players playing higher stakes mis-interupting it's message.

It's very simple. This isn't $5/$10. This is $1/$2. These tables are schools of plankton.

However Gaby. and everyone else, obviously have the right to play anyway they like against anyone they like.

FYI 5/10(both ftp and stars) is full of fish and bad regs. a lot who play a style to avoid variance + tough decisions - this is what makes them bad regs.

If those levels are full of "bad regs" who play that way, do they all lose money at that level? Or do they just make less than you?

As far as I'm concerned results are all that matters long term. But I'm just a bad reg.

I really have no clue. Don't get me wrong- I think he's a good player so I would expect that he does pretty well.

I'm in no way knocking his style of play in general.

They are good player who do well- but make less than me (I would imagine.)

And you're right- long term results are all that matters. I'm prepared to make short-term sacrifices in order to increase long-term profits.
