The average adult male cries 1.4 times per month. Are you significantly above this?

BS. Garuanteed they took their subjects from a gay bar or France.

Jay, we could all hear you sobbing after you lost the Hottest BBV4Ler contest.

[/ QUOTE ]

[censored] rigged bs imo. I'm not even counting that in the times I've cried. Voters must be straight or something to not realize my hotness.

I don't think anyone should mock you.

However, you may have a problem. If you are not otherwise leading a productive healthy life, I would suggest seeking at least a professional consultation.

Every now and then I cry during an emotional scene in a TV show or movie

Properly cry? I get a lump in my throat/mmmaaayyybbbbeee a little tear in the corner of my eye at some really emotional scenes but never actual crying.

you're being very un-dude here.

in all seriousness, i am a dude who cries probably more often than most. i used to find myself getting choked up during movies that didn't really merit it, or at an emotional song or something.

in general i would say that this happened to me more often when i was depressed or in a bad way with life. i find myself less prone to it when things are going well. you may start crying over something that's not all that upsetting even if it's not what's actually bothering you. i would keep an eye on your general mood and affect, and think about whether you want a change. if so, you can see somebody, or you could look into something for yourself, whatever. even if you find that you need to make a change, therapy isn't the only option.

Sergeant McCaskey: You know, Roger, you are way behind the times. The guys of the 80s aren't tough. They are sensitive people. Show a little emotion to a woman and [censored] like that. I think I'm an '80s man...
Roger Murtaugh: How do you figure?
Sergeant McCaskey: Last night I cried in bed. So how is that?
Roger Murtaugh: Were you with a woman?

I cry more often then a average 22 year old, but not as much as the dude. I dont think its necessarily a bad thing, sometimes its hte best way to express your emotions

I always thought i was kind of weird because I am just like you. Even when I get really emotional during a book or movie I never even shed a tear. The most that happens to me is getting choked up. I have had tears come out of my eye maybe once in the last 8 years. And even then, just 3 or 4 tears. No sobbing, no noise.

I'm pretty sure this makes us abnormal though. (Plus super manly of course.)

Cardo,

Do you cry a lot or is it more just bitching and moaning?

[/ QUOTE ]

Definitely the latter - if that statistic is to be believed my cry rate is at or below the average. I still feel like that's pretty high, though. I mean, I get choked up watching Ken Burns.
