Re: top two check raised on river
I call. The only thing that I see beating you here is a horribly played set or a flush draw that backdoored a straight.
I like your river bet, by the way. I think a lot of players check there incorrectly. |

Re: top two check raised on river
thanks karak! i like it when a "pooh-bah" says i play goot
but gosh, is this really too tight of a fold? let me just throw some ideas out: it does seem unlikely that he has me beat. but the problem i have, is that all of the options seem kind of unlikely. set - unlikely he checks a set three times on a flush board. 45 for straight - is unlikely he calls with just a gutshot on the flop. but he does pick up OESD on turn. missed flush bluff - seems like check-raise bluffs on the river are rare. wouldn't he just lead instead? a good portion of the time, a player in my shoes would have just one pair and check for showdown. "value bet" with worse 2pr - A2/A6 might make sense, he calls with his no-kicker on flop, hoping to hit and/or pick off a club bluff by me... anyways, i am getting 2.6:1 on the river... Re: top two check raised on river
You just watched the villian play 12 out of 23 hands, what has he been doing previously? |

Re: top two check raised on river
Call, I have a hard time seeing what hand he could possibly have that beats you that could play like this.

Call, I have a hard time seeing what hand he could possibly have that beats you that could play like this. [/ QUOTE ] flush draw that backed into a straight is the only thing that comes to mind if he had a set, man did he play that like crap. its possible he has some other 2paired hand, but a raise on the end with some weak 2pair is out of line in this spot |

Re: top two check raised on river
sorry, just to be clear the 23 hands was after fact. this specific hand was the fourth he played. the other three, he raised once and took it down preflop, folded twice. so more or less a complete unknown.
