Oh the famous centurion, its it alot harder than it sounds. I felt like my stomach was going to explode and I can shift a fair amount of beer.

The 9 before 9 is where its at. You have to drink 9 pints of beer before 9 in the morning and no you can't stay up from the night before. Me and my mates did it when i was at university, it was the most surreal experience I have ever had. We then went round our local area, generally doing stupid drunken things.

I had a ton to eat and my roommate sprung it on me right after I ate, so I puked after 40ish??? Awful puking too, I was MIA for a solid few mins. I came back and got caught up and then quit at 84 cuz I knew I was gonna puke again and I just didn't feel like puking again. When I do it again I'll organize my eating schedule a little better and get it done right. My roommate and his gf are gonna get the whole thing done without puking, so, good for them I guess.

The stats you listed are pretty incomplete because they don't adjust for era. For instance while his ERA would be incredible now his K:BB rate would be terrible now and he would have to be running sick hot to get anywhere near that. Normalizing stats or looking at stats like ERA+ you see he was slightly above average.

Yes, I agree the stats are incomplete and a bit misrepresentative by today's standards (exept the 2:1 win % IMO, though being on a better team helps) - I don't care enough to go back and detail-by-detail it. But to call him an "average" or slightly above average pitcher is way off IMO (I used to read a bunch of baseball books as a kid, that's the comment that piqued my interest).

Unless you mean "average" in the way a lot of people around here like to call certain breakeven/slightly losing high volume players "horrible" - then I'd agree with your characterization of the Babe as a pitcher...
