Default Where to send parents on vacation?

I was thinking of sending my parents somewhere on vacation as a Christmas gift, probably going in Feb/March.

They are in their mid-50's, from the northeast, and not the most active. I was thinking something in the Caribbean or similar. My question is where. They are not too active, but do like site-seeing. A beach resort would be good, but they need other things to do too, they aren't going to lie around all day or go jet skiing.

I was thinking of spending 3K+ (is that enough?).

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Nice thought, but they did one once and couldn't sleep/got sick from the motion.

I just meant more in terms of countries/places. Are there things for them to do in the bahamas vs jamaica vs DR vs Costa Rica etc...

3k will cover the flights and a couple of days to the Caribbean at most. Send them somewhere nice for at least a week.

I think a cruise would be perfect for your parents from the sounds of it. A cruise will have all sorts of different things for them to do so I won't be just sitting around. It'll also bring them to a few different areas. My parents are on a cruise right now that I got them for their anniversary and they called me today saying how much they like it. I was in kind of the same situation as you, not sure where they'd wanna go, etc... just check out some sites if cruises are something you wanna check out. the people i talked to from the different sites, cruise.com, carnival.com, etc... were real helpful and helped me pick a good fit for my parents.

if they dont require warmth. send them on a trip to portland or seattle and rent a motorhome and have them drive the coast down to california somewhere and fly home. it will be the best sight seeing they ever had and a camping sort of trip.
this may fit your budget and be unique.

Alaskan Cruise. If they've never seen the glaciers and such, they will really appreciate it. Pick August, when the Salmon are running and the bears are feeding on them.
