Re: PLay ont he river...bet/fold?
The standard line is bet/folding, but I always feel so many people know this that you almost have to call...

Re: PLay ont he river...bet/fold?
I think it is a b/f, but I've also picked off 3 players in my last 3 sessions trying to bluff into me on the river of a 4-flush board.
I think this is pretty player dependent. If you can trust this guy it is a b/f, but against some of the guys I have been running into lately it is a c/c. |

Re: PLay ont he river...bet/fold?
The thing is that any hand you beat he will probably check behind when checked to, and any hand that beats you he will probably bet when you check.
At other times he may check behind a small spade that beats you and he would've called with, but I don't see many "small" spades that he can have and not bet here. The second aspect of a c/c is that he may bluff a hand you beat that he would've folded; this he may do with 99, TT and JJ, but he will probably check them behind. So in other words, if you check and he checks you gain nothing, and if you check and he bets you will almost always lose an extra bet by calling. This actually makes me feel c/f is better than c/c, but I would never be comfortable c/f-ing here, so a b/f is the best option if you can rely on him not bluff raising here with less than a pair of aces. Otherwise I'd make a crying c/c, expecting to lose. |

bet/fold vs me and I will introduce you to the elindauer raise. [/ QUOTE ] Easy solution. I don't play with you. Also, most people at my tables don't play like you, otherwise I wouldn't be at the table |

bet/fold vs me and I will introduce you to the elindauer raise. [/ QUOTE ] this is the type of player that I would c/c against. tricky lags and tags or guys that just run some bad river bluffs should not be b/f. Against your average so-so TAG or loose passive though you can reliably b/f. |

Re: PLay ont he river...bet/fold?
That's the problem with poker: one meister comes along and says you always should b/f this, and next thing you know some smart arses start thinking, "If they always b/f this, I should always raise it", and the play is nullified.
