Companies that produce alcohol don't like laws that reduce alcohol consumption. Companies that produce alcohol own the politicians. [/ QUOTE ] You think that alcohol companies like the law as it is? |

But generally speaking it's extremely hard to change law in the current environment, even when there's a blantantly obvious solution, because rich lobby groups have more pull than common sense. |

Re: Passing a sobriety test
I got pulled over on the SF/Oakland Bay Bridge stone cold sober and failed the follow the light back and forth test pretty hard. The guy kept asking me questions and I would stop to look at him when I answered.
CHP didn't ticket me, but they did confuse the smell of In N Out with booze and I'm pretty sure they spotted the 10K wad I had in the glove compartment when I got out the registration and insurance. |

The cop should have challenged you to spell a four word subject line correctly. [/ QUOTE ] That's the test for retardation, not drunkenness. |

On a side note, it's a great idea to have a phone number for a lawyer who's good at DUI's in your phone for times like this. [/ QUOTE ] An even better idea would be to never drive drunk. |

Re: Passing a sobriety test
That "adrenaline" factor OP mentioned is so insane. This summer I was pulled over at 1am coming back from a friends house. I was only slightly buzzed as i had only had a few beers maybe a couple of shots. I just remember seeing the sirens and it felt like my heart left my body. I was so nervous and the adrenaline was flowing so hard i didn't even think to turn off the car/radio/etc.
But about 20x worse than that by far was on the way back from picking up some, lets just say "Class A drugs" It was really late like 2 or 3am, pretty drunk, and i was literally fumbling around with the three small baggies in my lap trying to drive + put them inside my wallet. Out of nowhere a cop pulls out of the street and starts following me (i was like a mile away from my friends house) i honestly felt like i was having a heart attack, i have no idea how i kept driving steadily. i made sure i didn't make any drastic movements as i was still trying to get the [censored] into my wallet. then out of nowhere he just zooms off on another street and i literally had to pull over to gain my composure. thought for sure i was going to do some time. |

Re: Passing a sobriety test
also, from what i've heard that test they do with the light and your eyes is nearly impossible to pass if you are anywhere near or over the legal limit, due to the fact that your eyes will shake/twitch. so im guessing OP didn't drink as much as he thought he did.

Re: Passing a sobriety test
If you refuse the test, what do the police do to you? Take you to the police station and then what happens?
