Andrew Cohen is the founder of What is Enlightenment, a magazine starting from humble beginnings, which muses on what enlightenment means in various articles from 'spiritual' teachers from around the world. Cohen is also a spiritual teacher and has been taking some heat from former students who are calling him out or 'breaking the silence' about his controversial methods of directing students to shed their ego-based deluuuusions. Here is a blog that outlines the issue and meanders through dissent from former students to staunch support from those still close to Cohen to an outside opinion on both sides and on from there.

It's fairly long but most of the posts are well articulated and the compilation of differing points of view lends insight into power struggles amid even the 'highest' 'spiritual' circles. I'll admit this is kind of like reading gossip but it's gossip about those who are pursuing the highest calling, or so they say ... meant ... got confused about ... then found ... some other way. If you're interested in objectivity, an outsiders perspective on this dimension of human pursuit should prove subtly rich.
