I usually go for the check-raise here because I play my draws the same way. That way we also get value from whiffed AK-hands etc. So if villain would cbet something like $0.60, I'd raise it to about $2. If I get called, I'd bet around 2/3-3/4 the pot on any turn. If I get raised I either smooth call and check-call/raise all-in on the turn or reraise all-in, depending which one I feel is more efficient in getting our stack in the middle(probably reraise all-in on the flop).

However, as you say, my set is vulnerable, and QQ is within his pfr range of 8%.

You mean top pair, right?. or that he has QQ and a bigger set?

It depends on your and his image to 3-bet this flop or wait for the turn.

Assuming we bet $.50:

If min-raised I would call and have about 10 behind in a 2 dollar pot. I think you could then c/c the turn and get in push ai on the river.

If he raises to 3 then there is about 4.25 in the pot and you have $10.60 behind. I think you could the c/r the turn ai.

I like checkmates idea of taking the lead and overbetting the pot. I think this gives us the best chance of getting ai against this guy if he has TP or an overpair. So you could plan on betting $1, the turn the pot would be $2.75 and you could bet the pot. The river pot would be $7.75 and you would have a little more than that behind for a push.
