99 UTG 10NL
Villain is 29/8/1.2 over 62 hands, seems fairly straightforward.
PFR 8% I'm guessing is around 88+, KQs+, Ak, AQ. Given the small pfr, what do you do on flop? c/c or bet your trips? If so how much? Also, what is your line on turn based on above? Re: 99 UTG 10NL
You have to bet. Your set is great but vulnerable, although less so with just 1 other player. You really don't want to give villain a free card plus if another club hits it may kill your action. Bet .50-.60 cents and hope to get raised. I play my set faster here on this somewhat drawy board.

Re: 99 UTG 10NL
I like to raise this one UTG as others have mentioned. On the flop we hit our set but the board could contain some draws for villian.
Not sure if its correct or not but on flops like this one I like to bet more than the pot. Villians are usually unable to fold and it helps build a big pot with our strong hand. I try to come up with a plan for getting as much of villians loot into the center as possible by showdown. |

Re: 99 UTG 10NL
Checkmate, you make a good point about the size of the flop bet but there are a few reasons I prefer the smaller bet.
First of all, it may get villains to stick around with weak holding like TPWK or a mid-pair that didnt hit. These hands will probably fold to a larger-than-pot bet (though maybe not at NL10). Second, I like my flop bet to look like a probe bet indicating I have a weakish holding. Many villains will raise a smaller bet, sensing weakness, and thats exactly what I want to happen. |

Re: 99 UTG 10NL
b3b or c/r are both fine. On a somewhat drawy board like this, c/c isn't the greatest option.

Re: 99 UTG 10NL
When oop, I prefer to bet 3/4 pot over a potsized bet (0.5$ sounds about right here, I prefer that too 0.6$).
It helps to build the pot and if he has something he will often reraise with anything decent. You can call or raise depending on his stack/bet size and his ability to fold hands. |

Re: 99 UTG 10NL
I have to say, I agree with pretty much all of the replies here.
[ QUOTE ] Bet .50-.60 cents and hope to get raised [/ QUOTE ] Ok. I like this too, but what do you do when a) min-raised or b) a raise of say $2-3 on flop? Re-raise/call? I may call and c-r all-in on turn (too aggressive I expect). However, as you say, my set is vulnerable, and QQ is within his pfr range of 8%. |
