If I started traveling the circuit and didn't make a single final table in 2-3 years, well then I'd probably quit.

If Jon Little continues to make 3 per year, he won't quit.

I think a lot of it has to do with variance.

To add to Goggles' post, I think the volume internet players put in makes the varience easier to handle and gives an edge to the guys who mix it up with good volume online as well as live play.

I don't know you, however, I'm pretty sure you will not be playing as a pro in 10 years time. I can see you becoming intrigued by and perhaps successful in another line of work.

Any player who has become highly proficient in mixed games has a much better chance at being a top professional. Also, a sheer compulsion toward gambling. So, perhaps Michael DeMichelle?
