NL 10 JJ in UTG+1. Scary board.
Villain is 50/0/2.4 over 16 hands. He seems to play reasonable post flop poker.
I called the flop since his half pot c-bet seemed weak. I'm behind AA-QQ,77 and AK here and the 3 diamonds don't look good, do I carry on with this turn? Also, would you re-raise this preflop in UTG+1? Re: NL 10 JJ in UTG+1. Scary board.
Fold on the flop.
Fold on the turn. I suppose you could make a case for reraising preflop to try and isolate UTG, but I'd prefer to just call like you did and play for a set. You have no business floating the cb, however. Just fold. And if you really thought he was weak and you wanted to try and win the pot on the flop, then raise the cb and give up if he calls and leads at the turn. |

Raise PF to $0.6 or so.

Re: NL 10 JJ in UTG+1. Scary board.
Grunch
I reraise this, his raise is weak and you can drive everyone else out of the pot giving you the button for the rest of the hand. I think this helps define UTG's hand a little better also. I would bump this to .80 or .90. I fold if villain comes back over the top since you've only played with them 16 hands. Villains small bet gives me an oportunity to play perfectly against him if he's doing this with a small pair or SC's by being able to take away his odds to call with those hands correctly. 5/10 rule or 3/8 rule, whatever. As played this flop is ugly. With a player left to act I'm probably gonna fold this here as I'm not drawing (Gutshot to flush and backdoor straight) to anything good and I'm likely way behind. Turn is a fold, as you don't know if vilain will pay off a 4flush or 4 straight board on the river so you can't rely on implied odds much to make this call. |
