Default Hand vs Stoxtrader

6 handed game.

Solid LAG/TAG opens in the CO (which can be hands like T9o, A7o, etc), I 3 bet from the button with 66. Stoxtrader in the SB has a long delay (not normal for him though it can occasionally happen just coincidentally) and then caps. Stox is very aware of both me and CO. CO folds. I call.

Flop Tc9d5c. Stox bets, I call. I have 6c in my hand.

I'm silently hoping for a red king to come on the turn so I can just fold.

Turn 9s. Stox checks, I check. Ok.

River 7h. Stox bets. I wanna fold, but call.

River is a pretty easy call. If he has AK or AQ he will bet knowing you can't value raise a hand you checked behind the turn with, but also knowing you will always value bet better hands than his.

It feels so stoxy-like for him to have you crushed here on the river. When someone like him relinquishes initiative OOP like he did on the turn, he usually isn't going to pick it back up on the river. I'm thinking I could find a fold here.

As you played it, I think I look him up on the river too.

But if you are going to spend a bet to call on the river, what about just betting the turn, and could you safely fold to a raise? If you get popped you are probably drawing to 2 outs, seems unlikely that he would checkraise the turn with AK/AQ,

Maybe this is over my head, but why would stox be betting A-hi here? I don't see worse hands calling, and maybe once in a blue moon schneids mucks his 66-77.

I think schneids can fold the river here unless 1) stox is going to cap a K-hi hand 2) he'll bet it on the river to try and fold A-hi 3) this happens often enough to justify a call. Other than that I don't see how he has a chance at this one.

I this line of thought. After looking at his DB. This is something he does very often. I doubt he is betting a weaker hand enough for your call on the river to be profitable.

I think you can make this call. I think he value bets/bluffs AK/AQ here often enough to make it profitable.

yeah, but how can schneids possibly call with a worse hand? he has to know the worst hand stox is gonna bet here is AK... wouldn't it make more sense for stox to check and hope that schneids tries to bluff his K-high or gives him a free sd?
