I just bought a new dryer and the now realize that the wall outlet does not match the dryer's plug (see below). Not sure if this means that I cannot use this dryer at all, or if there is some type of converter (or completely new cord) that I can pick up at a hardware store... any help is appreciated.

Hopefully yes.

In the time took to post this you could have had an answer; seems like a trait evolution should breed out.

don't screw with the a 220 plug... a short can start a small fire.

get a converter from your hardware store... about $15

Let him burn the house down, it would make a good trip report.

go to the hardware store (ie home depot) and buy a new cord for your dryer. theyre cheap and easy to switch out. google "3 prong 4 prong dryer" cords if you need more help.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is the correct answer. 220V is not something to mess with. Just go to Home Depot and get the new cord, people have to switch them all the time.

[/ QUOTE ]Here are instructions how to do it. Oh, and save your old 4 prong cord in case you move again and have to switch back.
