Lead out or check raise? 170bb deep, $50 pot limit
Most players seem a little loose-passive. I've only seen MP for ~5 orbits, but he's starting to stand out, and my notes now say "total calling station with top pair." Later on in the session, my notes will say "stupid monkey tilt when you hold over him" and "disbelieves 'odd' sized in-position raises." While I probably suspect those things at this point, I'm not positive.
There's a lot of limping at this table. Pre-flop, my plan was to limp in and check-raise if I flopped a nice draw. I figured that'd take down the pot pretty often, as would a second barrel if I missed the turn. Then I crushed the flop. Lead out, check-raise, what? With 5 players, I lead out. We might get raised. I'd probably go for the CR on turn.

Yes, I usually end up kicking myself after all 5 of them check behind, turn comes the 6h, you lead for 1/2 pot and watch all the muppets fold.

[ QUOTE ] pot pot pot [/ QUOTE ] why why why? [/ QUOTE ] because because because your hand is somewhat vulnerable, a set is going to play back at you hard on this board while a decent # of cards can kill your action, other hands like 88 wont fold or bet... |

I pot pot pot in pretty much any limped pot if I have a good hand.
You want to build the pot and that's pretty much the best way. |

Yes, I usually end up kicking myself after all 5 of them check behind, turn comes the 6h, you lead for 1/2 pot and watch all the muppets fold. [/ QUOTE ] One of my reasons for leading out from early position is "I have to lead out with this hand to protect myself for when I want to lead out with <some other hand>." But, hear, I mean, what am I really going to lead into five limpers on this flop except for a really strong hand? Anyway, "because they might check" is a pretty good reason . I was also thinking that my hand here is so strong that I need to think about getting the most money possible out of *strong* opponent hands. So, I'm not as concerned as usual with hands that check behind me. They might have paid off a flop bet, but maybe they weren't going to stack off anyway. Still not sure. |

[/ QUOTE ] so you bet, strong hand of opponent raises and you repot and that should do it? meanwhile, you check, opponent bets, you raise, opponent calls, and may not pay you off if the board turns crappy for him |
