Mmm... what I meant by this was, there was a vast difference between the fantastic rock stylings of Police/Genesis and the watered-down, poppy sounds of Sting/Phil Collins. I will concede that Phil was much worse.

The bigger problem with your analogy is that a large percentage of Genesis fans don't like Phil Collins at all.

And in re-thinking this analogy I realized that some of Sting's solo stuff was actually quite good and Phil Collins really went off the deep end into pop muzik hell.

I haven't read any other responses but Sting didn't turn The Police into pop drivel like Phil Collins did with Genesis(although that might have happened if The Police didn't break up).

Anyways since I was only about 5 years old since The Police last performed together I am glad they are back and hope they come my direction in the future.
