I think it's hilarious he decorated his house like a casino. That's the best part of the vid.

If you have $100, is betting $1 "going pretty deep"?

It's all relative. Barry has the money to make those big bets without feeling the losses.

[/ QUOTE ]

That may be true but if BG1 made the comment about "wish it was further from the truth" about a 10k tourney then who knows.

I hope it was just a joke by Barry since he seems like such a good guy with donations etc.

Also great thread

I don't really know how Barry had his big downswing cuz I haven't heard anything about that. A handful of people told me that he was getting staked either before or around this year's WSOP. I'm pretty sure it was by Ivey.

These guys never really go bust tho. In the higher circles ur roll is as big as your circle of friends. I know plenty of top players who've borrowed loads of cash with as little as a fone call (while it sounds crazy I've heard of loans as big as $1MM). While I didn't witness it, I know of one time that Eli Elizra loaned MadCaddy $200k+ in the big game. Caddy was running bad and Eli just passed him chips as he was leaving without really even knowing the kid at all away from the table. Caddy won that session and showed up at his room later and returned the cash. Still a pretty sick story.

Any amount of money that get your juices going when you bet it has to be a noticeable amount of your net worth. Lets face it would 100k get his juices goin if he was a billionaire? Probably not.

I make $120k a year and i still find it entertaining to make a $10 bet on something. It's all relative.

[/ QUOTE ]
Highly doubt this is true. You may find it "entertaining", but if it were a $100 or $1000 bet it would be more entertaining

[/ QUOTE ]

No, it wouldn't. That's why i don't make $1000 bets. I know i can lose $10 without feeling any loss, but the win is still entertaining because it's a win and then i can go to Starbucks and buy an outrageously expensive pair of coffees for me and my wife.

I think he has been on a cooler lately. There was talk a while ago about him running bad in the big game for about a year, and he has stated repeatedly that he is hard on money. So it certainly wouldn't surprise me if he was strapped atm.
