Beat: My xbox just stopped working, tell me why my plan of action sux

As the title says, my xbox is officially not working [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

Just talked to support and they are sending my a shipping package to send it in. I should have back it in ~3.5 weeks.

This isn't going to work for me.

Here is my plan.

I live in Redmond, WA less than 3 miles from the Microsoft campus.
I'm going to go and find someone working in the xbox building and tell them that my brother is coming home from Korea after serving there in the Air Force for over a year.
I'll tell them he arrives in 5 days and only has 3 weeks to stay here before starting back to work in Georgia.
The plan was to play xbox 24/7. He's been looking forward to this for a long time, blah blah.

I'm hoping a company as big as Microsoft may be able to fix the issue right then and there. Either by giving me a used loaner until mine is fixed, or just giving me a new one on the spot.

The stuff about my brother is true but was back a few months ago. (not that it matters)

It's after 5 so I'm thinking I should go tomorrow. Maybe they're still there? I'm for sure going to go there, tomorrow morning at the latest.

becuz microsoft doesnt care about you. instead, buy a new xbox, put the old one in its box and return it.

The repair place isn't in Redmond so I'm not sure how going there to hassle people is going to get anything done. Other than you being arrested I guess.

yea man microsoft doesn't care about the individual person, to big of a company. 360 is the fire though, so I still give them my monies

When my PS3 stopped working, I called sony and the next day a courier turned up with a replacement. Just fyi.

I find it hard to believe that any company would just send someone out with a new item without ever looking at it. Seems like it would cost them a lot of money to not even try to fix small, cheap, things.

I called them and had to wait on hold for ten minutes. When I spoke to them, I explained the problem (simply that it wasn't recognising any discs). I gave them the serial number, and the courier came round the next day. I swapped the old base unit for a new one (wasn't allowed to keep old HD). Had the same issue with a phone from orange, same deal with them, except I got to choose what time the courier would come round.

Difference is, SCE isn't having to pay for couriers to replace like 30% of their PS3s. They can afford it for one or two, but not 30% of their boxes.
