Turns trips on draw-ish board
Vilain is 58/17/2.6 over 100 hands Very loose preflop, cold calling raises very often, limping often. Postflop the 2 AF seems deceiving here. I haven't seen him raising much, mostly betting or calling.
25 NL UB 6max Villain(Button) $38 Hero(MP) $40 Hero is dealt 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in MP UTG folds, Hero raises to $.85, CO folds, Button calls, blinds fold. Flop($2.05) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero bets $1.45, Button raises to $2.90, Hero calls. Turn($7.85) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero checks, Button bets $2.75, Hero raises to $8.50, Button calls. River ($24.85) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero bets $8.00, Button calls. The flop call I figured I had 6 outs (8s and Ts), and put my opponent on 2 pair most likely. Turn hit my card and checkraised. His call has me a little worried that he might have the straight. On the river I make what I consider a value/blocking bet. Thoughts? |

Re: Turns trips on draw-ish board
I think you played it well. If he had the straight, he most likely would have pushed your check-raise. A lot of loose players in the micros can't hold back when they hit a big hand and someone plays back at them.

Any other thoughts on this one? Was my flop call too loose?

Re: Turns trips on draw-ish board
I was looking at the flop call, honestly in sitautions like this alot of times I just c/c because we obviously don't have the best hand. Honestly alot of times I fold here but I dont think that calling is that bad with a villain who is 58/17. Next time hit a 9 on the river
