1/2 RR against my pf steal attempt, I hit TP
Opponent's first hand at the table. The whole time, I have a hard time putting him on a range.
PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) internettexasholdem.com Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 7 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB 3-bets, Hero calls. This seems fine to me. His reraise could be be blind defense or a legit hand. Flop: (6.50 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls. I hit top pair, and the villain could have anything here, so I raise it up. Turn: (5.25 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls. Villian slows down, so I bet at the pot, thinking I have the best hand. After the call, I have a hard time putting him on a range of hands. River: (7.25 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls. Using the same logic, I have TP against an opponent that has slowed down, so I bet. Final Pot: 9.25 BB Your thoughts? |

Re: 1/2 RR against my pf steal attempt, I hit TP
What was your plan if he 3bets you ? I just call it all the way down.

Re: 1/2 RR against my pf steal attempt, I hit TP
yeah:
plan if he 3 bets flop? plan if he calls flop and CR's blank turn? plan if river or turn are bad (i.e. complete 4 card straight or flush) and he donks/CR's? |

Re: 1/2 RR against my pf steal attempt, I hit TP
A high never calls down that flop, nor does pocket pairs <99
You're hoping he has AT/AJ specifically when he calls your flop raise. Just call all the way. EDIT: I guess A9/A8cc would be possible also, but those don't call a river bet. |

Re: 1/2 RR against my pf steal attempt, I hit TP
I do not like the flop at all....
his PF 3bet range has you absolutely crushed! The hands we are ahead of can now fold cheaply. So by raising, we tend to lose the most and win the minimum. [ QUOTE ] I hit top pair, and the villain could have anything here, so I raise it up. [/ QUOTE ] Do you really think he can have ANYTHING here? Please give us a range. I know you said you had a hard time putting him on a range, but I'm not sure why. What is your 3bet range here from the BB. |

Re: 1/2 RR against my pf steal attempt, I hit TP
I just call down from the flop vs an unknown. If he pleasures himself whilst betting A-hi or QQ to the river, then good for him.
